Interesting facts:

If you put you'r skin up to the bark then it will be cold because the water is so close to the bark and this is how it got its nickname: the refigerator tree.​

The redbark tends to peel off around may every year to get new freash healthy bark.

Other uses

A yellowish-brown die in the leaves can be boiled and the yellowish-red extract which  can be used as a body wash!

Physical Characteristics

The manzanita tree has small bell shaped leaves with dark red bark. It can grow up to six (6) and a half (1/2) feet. Its berries look like little apples. 

Flowering

The flowers bloom February to April  and they look like little bells.
